Set warm water on the heater - Noteworthy
Adjusting the hot water to the heater is problematic. Low temperatures lower the energy costs, but can lead to microbial contamination.
What should be considered when supplying with hot water
Hot water from the heater can come from a storage tank or from a fresh water station. These stations are instantaneous water heaters that draw their heat from the buffer storage of the heater. Depending on the type of heating other rules apply
When setting is also to be noted whether rather showered or if bathtubs are to be filled. To take baths, large quantities of warm water must be available immediately.
Health hazards if heater is set incorrectly
If there is a fresh water station on the heater for hot water, there are no problems. Since fresh drinking water is heated shortly before collection, germination is ruled out. The best temperature is between 36 and 40 degrees Celsius. In order to determine the correct size of the plant, a specialized company must determine the demand. These systems are absolutely safe in terms of health.
In a hot water tank that holds hot water in stock, the hot water temperature must never fall below 60 degrees Celsius, as otherwise Legionella can multiply. In these systems, the temperature at the heater so basically to 60 degrees Celsius or higher. Since such a high water temperature leads to scalding, a thermostat must ensure that no water that has a temperature higher than 45 degrees Celsius exits at the extraction points.
So the temperature of the water at the heater is at least 60 degrees
Large water needs through baths or multiple showers
In fresh water stations, a short-term high demand can only be absorbed by raising the flow temperature for faster heating. It makes more sense to purchase a somewhat oversized system instead of working at higher temperatures.
In a hot water tank, cold water is always added to the hot water from the tank. The mixing temperature is calculated from Quantity1 in liters x Temperature1 + Quantity2 in liters x Temperature2.
If you want to fill a bath with a volume of 200 liters with 40 degrees warm water, for example 80 liters of water with a temperature of 10 degrees and 120 liters with a temperature of 60 degrees Celsius needed. If the tank is too small and does not hold 120 liters, there is an option to increase the tank temperature to 70 degrees. Then a hundred liters of hot and cold water are required to fill the tub with water at a temperature of 40 degrees Celsius.
Effects on heating costs
A fresh water station increases the heating costs according to the demand for hot water. Here, the lower the set water temperature, the less fuel costs rise. Low water temperatures are no problem as microbial contamination is impossible.
A hot water storage tank must have a minimum temperature of 60 degrees Celsius. The size of the memory has to be calculated exactly. It should be remembered that a too large volume causes an unnecessary amount of hot water. It takes unnecessary energy to heat this amount. On the other hand, too small a tank may need to be operated at higher temperatures, which also leads to higher costs.
According to the current state of the art, hot water tanks are considered as obsolete and fresh water stations are the only sensible alternative.
