Ceiling heating ensures optimum heat quickly and safely

Ceiling heating is relatively easy to install. It also convinces with its pleasant radiant heat.

Ceiling heaters are being installed more and more often in modernizations. They are a clean and practical alternative to underfloor heating. They are also easy to install. It works much like the floor model with warm water. A tight pipe system in the ceiling results in uniform heat radiation. So the room remains free of radiators and thus open to any interior design ideas. During installation, however, the lighting elements and existing lines in the ceiling must be taken into account. The height of the ceiling also plays a role in the installation of the heating modules.

Installation of a ceiling heating system

For laymen, it makes sense to contact a heating engineer when installing a ceiling heating system. Because there are many criteria that need to be considered. Among other things, proper insulation plays an important role in preventing heat loss. When renovating most property owners opt for the drywall variant: Here, the modules of the heating are inserted directly into the drywall panels. These elements can be mounted on the substructure and are then covered with plasterboard.

The distance between the heating modules and the floor must normally be at least 180 centimeters. They are securely fastened to the ceiling mount with special screws and dowels. On Mondays in suspended ceilings their load capacity must be checked. If the ceiling heating is installed, the temperature control can be tested via the thermostat.

Safety is paramount

During installation, it must be ensured that the heating elements are only fastened to a level surface. If necessary, this must be compensated to avoid mechanical stresses. In addition, a minimum distance to easily flammable or melting substances must be observed. The same applies to protective provisions that apply, for example, in wet rooms. They prohibit heating elements in the immediate vicinity of showers. Before mounting it is essential to check whether other cables are already in the ceiling.

Since the ceiling heating is electrically operated, it should be better installed by an electrician. The professionals ensure a clean installation and take responsibility for electrical safety. During installation the fuse must be switched off. The correspondence between the mains voltage and the specified voltage of the heating elements must also be observed. Furthermore, the protective earth conductor must be connected correctly.

Comfortable heat from above

Installation of the ceiling heating does not require extensive preparation. While underfloor heating requires the furniture to be set aside and the floor covering removed, the ceiling heating can be installed relatively easily. When it comes to heat dissipation, the heating in the ceiling is convincing due to the large-area radiation. Thus, the room is optimally heated by the even distribution of heat. The comfortable living climate speaks for itself.
